Guided by the YKK Group Environmental Pledge, Tape Craft Corporation’s Environmental Management System has been ISO 14001 certified since 2007.  An ISO 14001 environmental management system is a systematic and process driven approach to controlling the aspects of the business that have a significant impact on the environment.

Tape Craft Corporation, a manufacturer of webbing, is committed to minimizing waste and preventing pollution in order to protect the environment.  Located within Oxford, Alabama, the company has a comprehensive recycling program which helps the company minimize its footprint on the community by reducing the amount of waste that ends up in a landfill.   The three R’s: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, play a major role in the company’s operation, as they conserve natural resources, landfill space and energy.  All cardboard waste at Tape Craft is collected to be picked up by a recycling company.  Different types of bins are located throughout the facility to collect paper (catalogs, print, or shredded materials) for recycling.  Maintenance collects and preps any scrap metal generated at Tape Craft to be transferred to a metal recycler.   Other waste materials including chemicals, florescent and high-intensity bulbs, batteries, and used oil are highly controlled and recycled through specialized recyclers after being collected.

Tape Craft employees also work hard to produce high quality webbing and minimize production waste.  The amount of production waste has been steadily decreasing each year.   When off quality webbing is generated, it is collected and measured at the point where it was identified.  The company tries to reuse it internally in its processes when possible. Waste webbing that must be discarded is collected and shipped to companies which will re-purpose it for different applications including furniture, field turf, resin, etc.

Each year, Tape Craft proudly participates in YKK’s worldwide tree planting event to celebrate World Environment Day by planting trees on its 40 acre property.  Tape Craft’s annual participation in the event has added more than 70 trees to its property.
