In line with our commitment to responsibly manage material resources, in part through sustainable packaging initiatives, YKK is actively working towards replacing all vinyl and plastic packaging materials with eco-friendly alternatives by 2030.

Since 2030 is right around the corner, we thought we should let you know where we are along this journey:

YKK Japan Company Has Fully Transitioned to Biomass Material

The YKK manufacturing center in Kurobe, Japan has made remarkable progress by adopting inner packaging materials containing less biomass, and more recycled materials to decrease greenhouse gas emissions.

YKK Nhon Trach Plant is embracing the use of polyethylene, containing 100% recycled materials as a viable alternative, which also lowers GHG emissions. The Nhon Trach Plant has also switched 50% of cardboard boxes to recycled materials, aiming for 100% by the end of 2023.
